Alex, thanks for your fine comment.
Zhang Yimou`s films always tell Chinese tradional story. Meanwhile, I love Mongolian, I recomend "Tuya`s Marriage (图雅的婚事)" "The story of the weeping camel (Die Geschichte vom weinenden camel )(哭泣的骆驼)"...

In fact, many old Zhang Yimou's films are great. In those days he always had a special touch of chinese countryside / old villages. And his colour sense is also amazing, which still exists in his "blockbusters" now. I particually like 我的父親母親 (The Road Home). It is the debut of Zhang Ziyi, who looked so pretty and innocent back then. (Sigh...)

I would like to add one more: 綠草地 (Mongolian Pingpong) by Ning Hao. This is the one makes me fall in love with Mongolian Grassland.
