Xiaomei (The Beauty in Mandarin)

It’s hard to figure out the identification of Xiaomei. Rumor has it that Xiaomei is an extraordinary cat which has experienced life and death. Since she was a kitten, her life has been so dramatically, such as being stuck in the roof and had been meowing for two days. When settling down in the hostel, Chinese Box, she pretended that she was pregnant. After taking care of Xiaomei carefully for months, we found that we had been cheated by the cat. Then, missing in action for a week, Xiaomei was picked back home by me in a hutong, the night after I drank with friends. Xiaomei, MAGIC!

Xiaobai (The White in Mandarin)

Maybe, it’s impossible to find out another cat which is as indecent as Xiaobai. Yet, we cannot blame him for being indecent. Xiaobai is a poor cat, which had been abandoned twice at the time it should be fed in the arms of the mother cat. Even cats have different destinies. Xiaobai is so suspicious, eccentric, and alert that we could undoubtedly call him the best guard of 2008. In addition, Xiao has another little weakness that he utters when sleeping. Sometimes, he is a sleepwalker too. It’s the era of the uniqueness. Xiaobai, COOL.

Bitiniu (The Running Nose Gal in Mandarin)

This is a 100 percent of cat which comes from a humble family, because Bitiniu shows her graceful poses all the time. Even during the lunch time, she is so elegant that she never fights for food against other cats. Yet, the gal yearns for beds so exclusively. Had slept with different men, she would meowed charmingly in the following mornings. It seems that she is telling you that she had enjoyed that night. Bitiniu is so sentimental that we never know who loves whom more in those lustful nights.

Niuer (The initials of a brand of white wine, Niulanshan Erguotou, in Mandarin)

It happened that there were two bottle of white wine, Niulanshan Erguotou, in the car when I picked him up. Then, I yelled “Niuer” out, he happily responded me without doubts. Niuer is indeed a cat with a doggy destiny. Among these cats, Niuer is the onl one which could memorize his name in a short time. What’s more, Niuer really understands human language. He always shows us complicated expressions with his funny moustache and manly attitudes. He is not so interested in beauties, but as speedy as a leopard when it comes to food.

They are all abandoned cats who come to Chinese Box at different times. They share the same material world, live in their own spiritual world.
